This groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz changed the face of Broadway—from its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk to its stirring tale of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world.  The Baltimore Sun raves “Powerhouse performances. Visionary sets” and the Chicago Sun-Times proclaims THE WIZ is “An eye-popping and high-intensity revival!” This dynamite infusion of ballet, jazz, and modern pop brings a whole new groove to easing on down the road!

Spend an evening with comedian and storyteller Kevin James Thornton as he shares hilarious, heartfelt and occasionally cringeworthy stories inspired by his debut book, "Big Baby." Known for his candid reflections, Thornton brings warmth, wit and relatable humor to the stage. Narc Magazine calls his comedy "warm, witty and disarmingly self-deprecating."

Pianist, Norman Krieger performs the iconic Piano Concerto No. 2, paired with selections from Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux in Respighi’s vivid orchestration. Closing with the composer’s final orchestral masterpiece, the electrifying Symphonic Dances.

With five Top 5 Billboard albums and a national following as hosts of the syndicated television show "Bluegrass Ridge," Nu-Blu delivers a memorable evening for bluegrass fans and music lovers alike.

The Springfield Symphony Jazz Orchestra, Springfield Symphony Chorale and a gospel choir present Wynton Marsalis' powerful "Abyssinian Mass," a moving celebration of faith, community and the rich traditions of Black American music. Blending jazz, gospel, blues and spirituals, this uplifting work showcases the enduring power of music to inspire, unite and heal.

A powerful season finale with Bortkiewicz’s lush Piano Concerto No. 1 performed with brilliance, passion and artistry by returning Ukrainian pianist, Anna Shelest. This finale will share musical stories that resonate with Beethoven’s Creatures of Prometheus and music that endures with Strauss’s monumental tone poem Ein Heldenleben. A celebration of the music that stirs the soul!
