About Kent Brooks
Kent Brooks will be playing something for everyone including jazz, tin pan alley, standards, gospel, classical and contemporary adult.

He has enjoyed a 43-year career in music performance and education that has covered various genres mainly from the American experience. He began as a 10-year old singing and playing piano in church in tiny Oxford, NC, where his mother and brother (also church musicians) were his first inspirations. As a young music student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he met and performed with his most influential mentor, Grammy award winning gospel artist, Richard Smallwood.

Kent has been blessed with some amazing opportunities. A few include a commission to compose "Heal The Land", a theme for the Raleigh-Durham area's first Black Church's Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS; opening for the Special Olympics World Games and serving as choirmaster for four of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra's special performances for four seasons.

Safety Precautions to Remember
Masks/face coverings are required.  We ask that all patrons please follow the 6-foot physical distancing guidelines. Bathrooms will be open in the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center for concert patrons only. Patrons are required to wear face coverings/masks upon entering the building.
