We have many students who have moved into the professional world of theatre and here is what they have to say about their experiences at Clark State.

Graduate Chris Basil CHRIS BASIL, 1998 Graduate of Clark State
Video Shop Manager/Technician, New York

"I thoroughly enjoyed my experience within the Theatre Arts program at Clark State. With an interest in technical theatre and lighting, I was able to take what I learned in the classroom and immediately apply my newly found knowledge into work experience at the Performing Arts Center. I was involved with just about everything at the PAC from lighting small, local civic shows to operating a followspot for Toby Keith to programming lighting consoles for large Broadway style bus and truck shows. After graduating Clark State, I had the confidence, knowledge, and experience to work in the entertainment industry and succeed.

"While taking theatre classes at Clark State, I felt I was a part of something and not just a student attending classes. That invisible wall you see sometimes between student and teacher relationships was non existent. The staff, faculty, and students within the theatre department and the PAC seemed to mesh much like a team. And it felt great to be a part of the team."

Chris's Job Highlights: Providing video packages and technical assistance for Broadway (Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, A Catered Affair) and large Corporate and Staging Events (ABC Upfront, CW Upfront, Webby Awards, Oprah, NBC Summer Concert Series) | 2002 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in Salt Lake City | Super Bowl XXXVI Halftime U2 Concert in New Orleans | Queen's Golden Jubilee in London, England - Buckingham Palace
