Project Jericho

Just as the trumpets’ blare brought down the fabled walls of Jericho, the arts breakdown barriers to communication, allowing the spirit and soul to nurture and grow.
Project Jericho is a collaborative program between the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services and the Clark State Performing Arts Center, with additional support from the Turner Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council.

Project Jericho provides a variety of performing arts workshops, artist residencies and family performances to at-risk youth and their families. Young people may discover a gift for poetry and the joy of sharing it with friends. Participants may explore the exhilaration of performing for an audience, and experience pride in a task completed successfully. Project Jericho encourages development of individual talents while working together and sharing a common artistic goal. The powerful effect of music, poetry, painting, dance and theater is seen in the participants' newfound self-confidence, self-esteem and pride as they experience the arts firsthand!

Assisting young men and women in our community to become confident, poised and positive adults is Project Jericho's mission.
