Children's Hour (Ages 4 to 10)

The Clark State Performing Arts Center is happy to offer our annual Children's Hour during the month of June. Held in the Davidson Grand Lobby at the Performing Arts Center, this free entertainment is for children ages 4 through 10 brings new and exciting hands-on activities presented by local arts and cultural organizations. The events take place from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday in the month of June. A light snack will be provided at the end of each program. RSVP is preferred by calling 937-328-7951.

Project Jericho

Nationally recognized, Project Jericho is a collaborative program between the Clark State Performing Arts Center and the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services to provide positive, in-depth arts experiences to at-risk youth and families.

Project Jericho was honored at the White House with one of just 15 national Coming Up Taller Awards from the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. Over 350 youth organizations from 47 states were nominated for Coming Up Taller Awards.

Coming Up Taller Awards recognize outstanding community arts and humanities programs that celebrate the creativity of America’s young people. The award recognizes Project Jericho as one of the best after-school/out-of-school arts programs in the United States. Scott Dawson, Outreach and Education Director and Anthony Mitchell, a Project Jericho youth participant, went to the White House to accept the Coming Up Taller Award from First Lady, Laura Bush.

Coming Up Taller is an initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH). The President’s Committee partners with the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to administer the program, which was founded in 1998.

KidStage (Ohio Lyric Theatre)

KidStage Children's Theatre, co-sponsored by the Clark State Performing Arts Center and Ohio Lyric Theater of Springfield, is offered to children in grades 3 through 7. KidStage presents a variety of theater-related activities throughout the year, including workshops, performance opportunities and a week-long summer theater arts camp called SummerStage. Membership requires a registration fee.
