One of the most beloved works in the symphonic repertoire, Carmina Burana is a collection of medieval texts portraying spring and burgeoning love (not to mention a few bawdy drinking songs). Cleveland composer Margaret Brouwer’s Rhapsody for Orchestra is a “concerto for orchestra” showing off the ensemble through melodies, powerful sound and electric rhythms. Brouwer’s work will conclude our year-long celebration of the contributions of women to the art of music as composers, artists and influencers.
